The BraggBrentano parafocusing configuration is currently the most widely used and is therefore briefly described here. As with the equivalent Bragg-Brentano geometry, the angle is optimised at about 6 and the monochromator Bragg angle is calculated according to the d spacing of, say, (111) silicon.
